| PDL's Stratos system |
Usually double sockets at 10 amp
single phase, work with your electrical system designer to ensure
you have both general coverage around the house for items such as
vacuum cleaners - as well as task outlets for items such as a
free-standing lamp or appliances.
Be sure to let your designer know if you have any special
requirements - such as grinders in the workshop, or extra points in
the bathroom so you can plug in the straightening tongs and
hairdryer without having to unplug the electric toothbrush every
time!
Devices such as Audio equipment should have their own circuits
and connected equipment such as projectors or subwoofers should be
looped from the same circuit.
Failure to plan for this in the design stage can mean your AV
system winds up carrying earth potential imbalances for your
electrical system and this appears as a 50 cycle buzz on the audio
system or slowly scrolling wide dark band on your display
equipment.
Some devices require permanent connection such as the heated
towel rail, your designer will advise you on where these are
required. Items that are commonly controlled by a lighting and
automation system are fans, towel rails, heated mirror pads,
louvres etc. make sure you decide which devices you would like
controlled by the system so they can be wired back to the control
system.
