Common heating ventilation and airconditioning systems (HVAC) are: Wall Fan Heater, Under Floor & Undertile heating, In Ceiling Heaters, Fixed Infrared Radiant heaters (outside) Extractor Fans, Airconditioning and Air Recirculation Fans. Electric louvres can also be used to provide ventilation and or shade from the sun.

All of these devices can be connected to a lighting and automation system to maximise their use while keeping electricity consumption to a minimum.

For example, heated towel rails can be triggered to run from 5am to 8am and 5pm to 8pm and 8am to 8pm on weekends - reducing their consumption to 28% of normal. Setting the alarm might be a signal to close roof louvres and shut off bathroom fans.
